response

Liyana's responded to my response 'discussion'. This is funny. We are having a nice little blog discussion on sexual orientations.

Liyana said,

"if i were to assess it by my religion, i think i shouldn't go near them because my religion disallows people of the same sex and gender to have an intimate relationship"

Ok so here's my question. What is it that is said in the holy texts? As in what is the reason for Muslims that they are not allowed to have same sex intimate relationships or be friends with people who are. Liyana is looking at this from the religious point of view and it will be easy for anyone who looks through those lenses to view being homosexual as wrong.

My Mom Says (MMS)hahahahaha...

"there have been homos all throughout time. but no one made a big fuss about them till recently. they will change, they will be 'normal'. jus coz now it is seen relatively acceptable to be homo, pple are going that direction. just ignore this as a problem and it will not be a problem!"

Well, in a way she is correct. We can just say, ok they are humans (as Liyana puts it, "they are humans afterall") and say ok they will be normal and they will eventually be with someone opposite to their sex.

All i am saying is that there is no reason for us to make a big hoo haa. Yes there are gays and lesbians, and there are straight people. Some are gay not cos they want to, but they were born like that. I agree to the point that media has changed alot of people to accepting and 'going the other side'. A guy cannot help it if he sees other men as good looking and the same for girls. You will like what you like, but sudden attraction to someone or a group of people cannot be avoided.

I have gay and lesbian friends. Many of my lesbian friends are from my secondary school. I even have a relative who's lesbian. I am cool with them, that is as long as her friends don't try to hit on me im fine. I went to MOMO's Thursday Girls party sometime back and i can very confidently say that one girl tried to buy me a drink. I do not know if it was cos i was just standing at the bar looking like a dummy or otherwise. hahaha...that was a funny night. I respect gays and lesbians. They are a nice bunch of people just like you and me.

I do not agree with people who condemn homosexuality. On one has the right to tell someone else about sexuality orientation.

Disclaimer: These are my personal feelings and not research material worth! DUH!!!
