matrimony's the word

im back after a looong ass time. why have i been away for long cos i did not find the time to blog. sometimes i find it useless.

well now to the topic at hand. my friend is out looking for a boyfriend (or hubby). She tried going out with a few guys around her but to no avail. So now she is on her Barath Matrimony account looking through all the guys who are sending her interests. She is so very happy that she gets interests everyday. She finds a joy in declining most of the men just by looking at the photos. She is also asking me to take a good shot of her so that she can put it on her profile. Why i wonder. Why sell yourself off. I find this quite demeaning.

so yes im no kerela matrimony.com....mom put me on it. everytime i get an interest i delete without even looking. is it wrong not to be interested? is it wrong to be interested? im not sure. my point in all of this is that marriage is a choice of the 2 people involved. they are not to be made by parents to marry. its not a step that everyone has to make. indian parents take it as something people HAVE to do...if not their lives have become useless. this ingrained thinking screws up the kids, thinking that they are in one way wrong.

parents need to leave it up to the kids to make the decision about settling down. they can help but not use tactics to blackmail them for life.

all in all....leave me alone and do not blackmail me....
